What are those things you thought would be easy but now prove to be a challenge for you?

I think the first thing for me was waiting...sometimes I get so impatient. The next challenge for me was editing my book before sending it out. The more I read through, the more I made changes here and there, I almost drove myself crazy until finally I gave up! In the end it was 2 lessons well learned.

The editing was a bit of a wake-up call for me, as I had no idea that writing dialogue was so complicated!

Yes, I'd say that editing proofed to be more of a challenge than originally thought, even though I had an editor. LOL

Now I know what to expect, so I give more time for the editing process.

Marketing and Promotion, of course. I had no idea going into this, that I would wind up doing so much work after the fact!

Fortunately, I knew what to expect in terms of the marketing and promotions of my books. However, as I speak with various writers and authors they also didn't realize the work it was going to take to get their book the exposure it deserves.
