Basically, we'd just go through the psalms this year. From 1 to 150. Posting a new psalm in order every two or three days. We'd also link to other sites also in the tour. We can still post other stuff to our blog but there'd be that one continuing thread all year.
It'd be a good way to get folks to our blogs if we got a lot of folks but even if we can't do that, at least we'll have folks from each other's blogs.
And the main thing would be that we would be committing ourselves to studying the psalms and to hearing how that psalm affects other folks.
I had a dream sometime in December where I was reading Psalm 91 and I didn't remember much of it. I told myself: there are some psalms I know well and some I half-know and some I have half-forgotten. And there were some psalms --if someone asked me what they were about-- I wouldn't know. That really convicted me. Me personally. I told myself I wanted to meditate in God's word day and night. And when this idea came into my head to blog the psalms all year, I thought...know what? Yeah, I'm gonna do it. Maybe I'll end up memorizing a few. At the very least, it certainly has me pondering and meditating on them.
So, yeah, we'd link our blog posts to other posts of that same psalm. We just have to get more folks. But God can use two or three people. I just felt as if God told me to do it. It would be so good if A) the web got filled with commentary on the psalms and B) I could meditate on the word with other christian and/or Jewish bloggers. If anyone is on the web looking to know God they could happen upon the Psalms.
